intermediate

Well, i learned something new in every class, always. i think that make a good experience in a course of any kind. However, it is difficult to integrate this second language in daily life. i say, not everyone around me speak English. Its fundamental because if I practice enough, I will be a good speaker.

I liked blog´s activities. It is a good instance to learn orthography and grammar. So, it’s good to practice more colloquial English. At least I use with that propose. We use videos and blogs for individual practice, and in classes, we mostly participate in couples. Maybe I miss some grouped activities like debates, a sort of focus group and so on.

i have  been watching and listening think in English for many years (like movies, music, books, websites, etcetera) and its complete useful to do that. if you always had have problems with English, have you trying to do that? You should!

It always helped me, but about the future: i know my principal difficulty is vocabulary and fluency, it solve just exposing me to context where English is speak. I think i have to search for some groups where people meet to speak English. Do you know some groups like that? Could you give me some advice?

2015

The picture of homer with this doom message is not imprecise. Some historical cultures thought that “new year celebration” were commemoration of the creation of the world. This mythical thinking is yet still alive in our daily life and our modern culture.
This year is particular because it’s the last year before begin professional practice. That is exciting because it’s an important step on my career. I want to close this stage of my studies and begin with this other. I’m going to choose a practice in clinical psychology.
Academically this year has some important courses. I learned so much in this course called “estructura y accion social en Latinoamerica”. This course is very interesting and taught to me many new concepts to analyze actual context in Chile.
In addition to this course I remember this course called “trastornos de personalidad” this is a course where I can apply all concepts and theories about human psychology in clinical cases, diagnosis and treatment.

And finally: It's just one month before Star wars the force awakens premiere. That is so exciting. No everyone likes the prequel movies but I have hope in this new trilogy for present to us new interesting characters, story, and etcetera. My family and I are big fans of this saga; we will go together to cinema to watch this movie.

An author: Judith Butler

I want to write about Judith Butler. She is an American author, she was born in 1956.
She has working in topics like: feminism, gender, philosophy, politics, ethics, subjectivity, psychoanalysis, and so on.  She wrote books and papers that prefigure many debates of the last decade. She wrote some books like: Bodies That Matter, Precarious Life, Senses of the Subject and others.
One of her most important ideas is: the performative constitution of gender. She propose to us that gender is a reading, an interpretation make for “the others” for our behavior or acts and our sexuality isn’t a “expression” of an underlying gender .
I always say “if I had to choose a book to make a frame work to write a paper, I would choose her book <The Psychic Life of Power> (1997)”. This book is a recompilation of papers where Butler discusses about identity, gender and philosophy.  I find one of her thesis interesting in particular: we want to, we love to, our enslavement. We are in life always self-enslavement.
When I read something of her work every reading I do is to learn something new or a new perspective about what is interesting me in that moment.

I’m not sure if I “admire” her. I don’t know if she lived a hard life or if she had to encourage difficult situations. At least I always say to me if I'm at a standstill with a thought or theoretic problem, I will find support in her work.

HOW GREEN ARE YOU?

I don’t spend so much time on green practices. I can understand the risk of an exacerbated animal “slaughter” or risk of pollution to health but I don’t fell motivated “to do something”. Who can blame us for don’t do something? There is some more urgent needs: “you can use a bike”, but you have to live near to you placework; “you can recycling”, but you will need to have enough time to spend, “you can eat organic food”, but you need to have money to buy expensive food, “you can supported to a eco-organization”, but you will need to have money to give to them, etcetera. Becomes a “green person” can be a privilege itself.

I think this “green ideology” can be dangerous. Why? Because sometimes it comes a lifestyle more than a proposal of organization of society. It`s like religious confession: If I eat organic food/ride a bike/recycling/etcetera, I will help the planet. Yes, sure, but I going to help in a micro scale. More motivating is the personal satisfaction of be this green person.  We buy our redemption being “green”.

If we still with reducing this to a lifestyle, the world won’t change at all. We need to find a way of sustainable organization because if it becomes a interpellation to individual practices, it is merely a moral discussion.

Certainly the word technology leads to confusion. In this modern era movies as Star wars, blade runner, the matrix represent an utopian meaning of this word. The example of a pen is good to produce cognitive dissonance about it.

I want to write about a technology that we use every day to get information or transmit our internal states. This technology is so natural to us that are hard to notice how complex it is. I refer to: written words. The reason to choose this technology is simply: without this “simple” technology the entire philosophical tradition didn’t actually exist (an this is "why" i like it).

When ancient Greeks begins to use written words and written medias to accumulate information and organize theirs poleis, this were a detriment to their oral culture. It had a deep impact to the greek conscious structure. With no necessity of use their faculties of memory on retain lots of oral information (now keeping it on papyruses) the greeks had their minds “free to think” about metaphysics, ontology and the meaning of life. All the rest is philosophy.

Now “how I got it”, “how long I have used it”, and “how often…” is easy and obvious to answer. I learn words through all my educative years. I have used it since I can remember and every day like everyone else.

a perfect refuge

I gonna share a place called Mosqueto. This is a coffeehouse with a very homy decoration and warmth environment. You can find this place located between monjitas and merced in mosqueto street, nearby bellas artes museum and “cerro santa lucia”.
You can find in this place all kind of coffees, teas and chocolate drinks. Also this shop offer all kind of cakes, cheesecakes, pies, kuchen, etc. and if you want a place to have lunch mosquito offer to you a menu with sandwichs, Salads and other foods. Also Mosqueto is a book café. This mean we can read books keep in shelves on the place while we drink our coffee.

It is a perfect place to refuge in a rainy afternoon. The last time that I was there I eat a chocolate cake and an espresso, and this can easily be my favorite order.

Why Santiago?

Santiago is a very nice place. All the cities around the world cannot says that have a beautiful mountain belt, the "cordillera de los andes", near of them. When rain on Santiago and after clouds pass and I can see a beautiful picture of the cordillera I like to live in Santiago.
But not all is a nice picture. As we know Santiago is in a valley, surrounded by mountains that produce a high concentration of air pollution, i dont like that. This is unhealthy and block a nice view.
Another thing i dont like about Santiago is the notorious spatial segregation in wich we live daily. That isnt an example of a modern city.
Definitely we need more green areas. In my neighborhood i have a small park front of my house. i like it. But i know that it is not the reality of all the people who live in Santiago. I think that the public transportation must to be invisible and Santiago have serious problems with the planification of it.
Dear visitor, enjoy Santiago.  Is a unique city bur remember this: if you are boring of the concrete jungle and you want a touch of green visit the metropolitan park, the “cerro san cristobal”, this place have a little zoo inside it.
